Psychedelic Integration Therapy in NYC

Support for making sense of what came up, and what to do with it now.

Sunlight streaming through tall trees in a misty forest, psychedelic integration therapy in NYC

A psychedelic experience can stay with you long after it ends. Sometimes that’s a gift you want to hold onto. Sometimes it’s a question you can’t stop turning over. Integration therapy is a place to work through it with someone who has training in this area and won’t judge how you got there.

No substances are used or provided. Pause Counseling doesn’t recommend or help anyone obtain psychedelics. Sessions are regular talk therapy.

Who usually comes in

People who had a meaningful experience and feel it slipping away. The clarity was real, but back in ordinary life, old habits are creeping in. We work on turning what you saw into something you actually live by.

People who had a hard one. Maybe it was frightening, confusing or brought up something painful from the past. If you’ve felt anxious, unsettled or not quite yourself since, that’s common, and it’s workable. We go slowly.

People in clinical treatment, such as ketamine-assisted therapy, who want steady support between or after sessions.

My background

I hold certificates in Ketamine-Assisted Therapy and Psilocybin-Assisted Therapy from the Integrative Psychiatry Institute. In integration work I lean on Internal Family Systems (IFS), because what surfaces in these experiences often shows up as different parts of ourselves, some hopeful, some protective, some long ignored.

I’ve seen how meaningful this work can be. For many of my clients, it has brought real clarity, shed light on patterns that were quietly shaping their lives.

Worth knowing

Integration isn’t about encouraging or discouraging future use. It’s about the experience you already had. And it doesn’t have to have been a “good” trip for this to help; difficult experiences are often where integration matters most.

If you’re in crisis after an experience, call or text 988 or go to the nearest emergency room.

Getting started

Some people come for a handful of focused sessions. Others find integration opens into longer-term work. I see clients in person in New York City and online across New York, New Jersey, Washington, DC and Connecticut. Start with a free 15-minute call.
